I pulled the plenum and was able to remove the entire assembly without any issues. I've read before people say the bolts are "too long when backing out and hit the firewall..." but that's FALSE. The bolts will hit the firewall with the valve in place, but I disconnected the pipes, removed the long bolts on the valve itself until the threads came out, and if you knock the egr valve off you can angle it so the bolts can pull out and finagle the valve out from behind the engine. But really, there's no point unless you already had the plenum off. Did a few tricks and no CEL either.
